I am currently placed in a first grade classroom at Pleasant View Elementary. I spend about four hours a week in the class, assisting the students as well as the teacher.

Over the next couple of weeks I am planning a lesson plan about the five senses for 28 first graders in my class. Here is a You-Tube Video I feel I could use as part of the lesson for them. I like it because it is age appropriate and has a very catchy tune.
Pleasant View Elementary School is one of the only magnet schools in the Lansing district. They pride on their visual and preforming arts programs. Since they are unable to focus on Science and Social Studies issues as much it is very important to be able to integrate subjects as much as possible.

I am very excited to work with my classroom teacher and her students. So far they seem to really enjoy having MSU students in the classroom. They already know my name and seem to be very comfortable with me in their class.
